Novým rektorem Anglo-American University se stal Štěpán Müller

Do funkce úřadujícího rektora Anglo-American University, soukromé vysoké školy s nejdelší historií v ČR, byl počátkem ledna uveden Štěpán Müller. Dosavadní rektor Lubomír Lízal byl z funkce uvolněn a působí jako předseda představenstva Expobank.

Doc. Ing. Štěpán Müller, CSc., MBA, který má bohaté mezinárodní zkušenosti jak z akademické sféry, tak v oblasti ekonomiky, k přijetí nové výzvy uvedl: „Rád bych navázal na svého předchůdce a podporoval nárůst počtu studentů i další zvyšování kvality výuky.“

Nový rektor AAU, který je mimo jiné místopředsedou Akreditačního výboru EFMD v Bruselu (zastřešující celosvětově platné akreditace pro školy typu MBA) a předsedou Akreditační rady České asociace MBA škol, chce zúročit své zkušenosti i v této oblasti: „Budu dále napomáhat maximálnímu využití potenciálu, který škole dává jak plnohodnotná česká, tak prestižní americká univerzitní akreditace.“

Anglo-American University v Praze (AAU) letos slaví své třicetileté výročí. V tuzemsku patří mezi školy s nejvyšším podílem zahraničních učitelů a studentů. Čtyři pětiny z nich pochází z více než 80 zemí světa, českých a slovenských studentů je přibližně dvacet procent. Studijním jazykem je angličtina.

Štěpán Müller has been appointed Acting President of Anglo-American University, the private university with the longest history in the Czech Republic, at the start of January. The previous president Lubomír Lízal now holds the position of the Chairman of the Board of Expobank.

Doc. Ing. Štěpán Müller, CSc., MBA, has vast international experience in both the economic and academic fields. “I would like to follow on from my predecessor and support the growth in our student numbers as well as a further improvement in academic quality,” he said when accepting the new challenge.

The newly appointed president also holds the positions of Vice-Chairman of the EFMD Accreditation Committee in Brussels, which grants worldwide accreditation for MBA programs, and works as Chairman of the Accreditation Board of the Czech Association of MBA Schools. Dr. Müller intends to benefit from his experience in the field.

“I will further support maximizing on the potential offered by full Czech and US accreditations, the latter received from the prestigious WASC Senior College and University Commission,” he stated.

Anglo-American University (AAU) is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. With more than four fifths of students coming from abroad, representing 80 countries, AAU is one of the most international higher education institutions in the Czech Republic. Czech and Slovak students make up about 20% of students. Programs are taught in English.
