The NIU by Musola awarded with an iF Design Award 2025

An international recognition for innovation, elegance, and functionality in the design of this iconic piece, created by designer Santiago Sevillano, embodying the concept of “outdoor feeling.”

Musola, outdoor furniture Spanish brand, celebrates the recent iF Design Award 2025, awarded to its NIU swing, a creation by designer Santiago Sevillano. This award, one of the most prestigious in the design world, recognizes the excellence and innovation of this unique piece that blends functionality and aesthetics.

The NIU swing, meaning “nest” in Valencian, draws inspiration from the concave shape of bird nests. It stands out for its lightweight and organic structure, made of interwoven stainless steel tubes, forming a robust yet visually appealing support. This piece can be hung from any fixed support or from a specifically designed parabolic structure, offering a relaxing movement that captures the essence of Musola’s Mediterranean style. The upholstery, made from Sunbrella and Agora fabrics, among others, is removable and protected by a waterproof layer.

This international recognition highlights the commitment of Musola and Santiago Sevillano to high-quality design and innovation. The iF Design Award 2025 not only validates the creativity and effort behind the NIU swing but also positions Musola as a global benchmark in outdoor furniture design.

For Musola, this award marks a milestone in its journey. “Winning another iF Design Award validates our commitment to designs that interact with spaces and enhance people’s lives,” said Paco Juan, CEO of the brand. Santiago Sevillano added: “NIU was born from observing movement and human connection; I sought to capture that essence in an object that invites play and contemplation.”
